Well, we did it! The 20 Ways to Pray series is over. But I hope the praying isn’t – I know it isn’t in my life. We’ve covered a lot of ground on prayer in the past few months, and I didn’t want to close this series without reminding us both of some of the great promises of God concerning prayer that we find in His Word.
Matthew 7:7 – Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. What a great promise. Of course, we know it’s not like a genie in a bottle; we must ask in the right way, with the right heart attitude, and trust God to answer in the way that will best glorify Him in our lives. But still – ask.
Matthew 21:22 – And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Another mind-blowing promise! Mark 11:24 repeats the same promise.
John 16:23 – Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. This was one of the last things Jesus said to His disciples before He was crucified.
Romans 8:26 – The Spirit Himself intercedes for us because we do not know how to pray. What a great promise – when all we can do is cry “O, God help me,” the Spirit prays for us.
Hebrews 7:25 – Jesus is right now interceding for us! What better prayer partner could a person ask for?
